Altar of Domitius Ahenobarbus

We just learned about the Alexander Sarcophagus sculpture.

A famous sculpture from the Roman art period is the Altar of Domitius Ahenobarbus.

It is split up into three parts.

The first part on the left is the census, where the Roman person in charge took notes of every person in town, where they lived and what they did.

The second part is where some animals are being given as sacrifices to the mythical Roman gods.

The last part on the right is soldiers with horses.
