Irises - Van Gogh


We just learned about Van Gogh's painting of Trees and Undergrowth.

Another of Van Gogh's paintings is of Irises.

He painted this when he was at the Saint-Paul Asylum, where he made lots of paintings of flowers.

Van Gogh liked to paint a lot and he thought it helped make him feel better.

He called it "the lightning conductor for my illness"

Nepanthia Belcheri


We just learned about the Red Knobbed Sea Star.

Another kind of starfish is the Nepanthia Belcheri.

This type of starfish lives near Australia, and grows to be a few inches wide.
One very interesting thing about this starfish is that it can split itself in half and turn itself into two starfishes.

These are waves that come out of the brain while you are sleeping, and can be measured with science tools called an EEG.

We just learned about the city of Shenzhen China.


Let's learn a little about the city of Istanbul, Turkey!

This city is in Turkey.
It is about 2,500 square kilometers, and about 15 million people live there.
The people in this city mostly speak Turkish.

In Istanbul there is a sports club calls Beşiktaş J.K, that owns a bunch of different sports teams like soccer, basketball, and volleyball.

To eat in this city you might have Dolma which is a vegetable leaf filled up with rice, meat or fruit.

Under the ground in Istanbul are some cisterns that are big open areas for storing water.
The basilica cistern is over 100,000 square feet and can old over 2 million cubic feet of water.

We just learned about the Jacob and Leah.
