Go Tell It on the Mountain

We just learned about the Christmas song We Wish You a Merry Christmas.

Another famous Christmas song is Go Tell It on the Mountain.

This song goes back to around 1865, and was an African American song that was written down in a book by John Wesley.

It tells about going to the mountain to tell everyone about Jesus.

Zechariah - Sistine Chapel - Michelangelo

We just learned about Michelangelo's Sistine Chapel painting of the prophets Isaiah, Daniel, Jonah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel,
and Joel.

Another prophet that Michelangelo painted on the ceiling was Zechariah.

In the Bible, Zechariah talked about a savior coming some day as king into Jerusalem.
Michelangelo painted him balding with a white beard, with cherubs behind him and reading a book.

Webcam

We just learned about the Bluetooth.

Another part of a computer is a Webcam.

Not that long ago, if you wanted to send a picture to your friend you had to put it in an envelope and mail it through the post office.

These days if you want to send a picture you can take one with your phone camera, or the camera hooked up to your computer.
Remmember that smart phones are actually tiny computers!

You can even have a live video with a friend and you can see them using the cameras on your computers.
When these cameras on computers first came out they were called Webcams, and they usually were a separate camera that you set up and plugged into your computer.
These days pretty much every laptop already has a camera in it, but sometimes people still want a fancy expensive camera to use for talking to their friends over the computer.

Weasels

We just learned about the Ring-Tailed Lemur, and we've learned about a lot of other types of Primates from Gorillas to Chimpanzees and monkeys!

Let's start learning about Weasels!

When we think of weasels, we usually think of a small animal with a long body that sneaks around on the ground.
We even use the word weasel sometimes to mean someone is being sneaky!

But the weasel family in the animal kingdom has a lot of different types of animals, like skunks, raccoons, red pandas, badgers and otters!
In Latin, the word for weasel is "mustela", so the science name for the weasel family is "Musteloidea".
There are over 60 types of animals in the weasel family, and small like less than a foot long, or big like almost 100 pounds.

Most of them are small with long bodies, short legs, round ears and thick fur.
They are all wild animals, but most of them are really adorable!

Septal Nasal Cartilage

We just learned about the Perpendicular Plate of Ethmoid Bone.
A while back we learned about the Vomer bone that is part of the skull right behind where the nose is.

Another part of the septum of the nose is the Septal Nasal Cartilage.

This is the part that sticks out from the perpendicular plate, and is made of rubbery cartilage that you can push around.
It is covered up by skin and other parts of your nose, and makes up the middle that separates your nostrils.
