Spanish Alphabet - O P Q R RR S T U


We already learned Spanish A B C D E F G, and H I J K L LL M N Ñ.
Now let's learn about O P Q R RR S T U.

O - is called oh. The word hola sounds like oh-la
P - is called pay. The word pico sounds like pee-coh
Q - is called coo. The word que sounds like kay.
R - is called ay-day. The word para sounds like pah-dah.
RR - is called ay-d-d-day. It's like a longer version of ay-day. Making this song lounder is called rolling your tongue. It's tough, not everyone can do it! The word perro sounds like pay-d-d-oh.
S - is called ess-ay. The word siete sounds like see-et-ay.
T - is called tay. The word tio sounds like tee-oh.
U - is called oo (ryhmes with boo). The word tu sounds like too.

We already learned Spanish A B C D E F G, now let's do H I J K L LL M N Ñ.

H - Sounds like ah-chay. The word hola sounds like oh-la
I - Sounds like ee. The word dinero sounds like dee-n-air-oh
J - Sounds like #ho-tah. The #h part is the sound someone might make before they spit, like hk. The word jugar sounds like #hoo-gar.
K - Sounds like kah. The word kilo sounds like kee-low.
L - Sounds like el-ay. The word leche sounds like lay-chay.
LL - Sounds like ay-yay. The word pollo sounds like poh-yo.
M - Sounds like em-ay. The word mucho sounds like moo-cho.
N - Sounds like en-ay. The word no sounds like no.
Ñ - Sounds like en-yay. The word niño sounds like neen-yo.

Remember that to say thank you in Spanish, you say gracias.

Spanish - Very good thanks


In Spanish, if someone asks How are you? by saying ¿Cómo estás?
you can answer Very good, thanks. by saying Muy bien, gracias.

The way you say it, sounds like Moo-ee bee-en guh-dah-see-ahs /?/.

It's also polite to ask how they are, so you can add y tú? /?/ to the end of that sentence.
That sounds like ee too?

So using all the words we've learned:
Hola, Adiós, Señor, Señora, Señorita, ¿Cómo estás? and Muy bien, gracias, y tú


We can have a conversation in Spanish like this:
Girl: Hola Señor.
Boy: Hola Señorita, cómo estás?
