Sedimentary Rock

We just learned a lot about lava, like the Lava Lake.

We've already learned that one type of rock is igneous rock, and it is made from cooled lava.

Another type of rock is sedimentary rock.
That type of rock is made when water flows along and leaves dirt and other parts in a pile over and over through thousands of years.

Wildebeest

We just learned about the Impala.

Another type of antelope is the wildebeest.
Another name for the wildbeest is gnu, pronouced like new.

Wildebeests are very smart, and they travel in packs to help protect from other animals.
Sometimes they will even go out into fields where there are zebras, to help have a bigger group to watch out for lions.
They even have learned to understand sounds that baboons make when they are being attacked, so they know to run if danger is near.

Jesus' Miracles - Healing on the Sabbath

We've learned about Jesus' Miracles healing lepers, healing the blind, healing the paralyzed and healing women

One time some of the people that didn't like Jesus tried to trick him into breaking one of God's commandments.
People believed that you should always rest on the Sabbath day, a holy day that you should set aside just to worship God and not do any work. This was one of Moses's ten commandments.

So the people brought Jesus to a man who was sick and asked if it was OK for him to heal someone on the holy day. Jesus knew it was a trick, and said that if one of those people had a child or an ox that fell into a well, they would rescue it, so it was OK for him to heal the sick man.

Solar eclipse

Remember orbit means that one thing spins around the outside of another thing.

We know the moon orbits around the earth, and is kind of close to the earth.
We also know the earth orbits around the sun.

What happens when the moon spins around the earth, and is right between the earth and the sun?
That's called a solar eclipse.

The moon gets right between the earth and the sun, and blocks out the sun!

When the moon is in just the right position, it blocks out pretty much the whole sun, and the earth gets dark light night time, even though it's day time!
