Proboscis Monkey

We just learned about the Golden Snub Nosed Monkey.

Another type of old world monkey is the Proboscis Monkey also called nasalis larvatus.

This type of monkey has a long nose, red brown skin and a long tail.

They live mostly in mangrove forests in the southeast part of the island of Borneo.
These monkeys are over 2 feet tall, and they weigh about 50 pounds.
Their nose can grow up to 4 inches long.

Proboscis monkeys make lots of sounds like honking at younger monkeys or when they are in danger.
